Responsible growth priorities for Asian businesses in 2022 and beyond

The road to becoming a purposeful business – one that takes responsibility for its impacts and creates value for all stakeholders – can be a bumpy one. Companies may face multiple challenges, from a lack of clarity on the business case to ambiguous priorities and direction, to constrained internal capacity. Within such a context, where can Asian businesses focus their efforts for the greatest positive impact?

Earlier this year, TPB broadly answered this by outlining five key action points. We’ve since further developed this set of priorities into a high-level plan, with accompanying guiding principles and tips to get started, because many Asian companies we work with find getting started and building the right foundations to be the hardest step.

Over the coming weeks, we will delve a little deeper into two of the priorities - decarbonisation and ESG reporting - in order to bring these actions points into the real world.

Wherever you are on your journey towards becoming a responsible business that does well by doing good, we hope this can spark conversations with your colleagues and peers internally, and within your wider network. We’d love to hear from you about how you are approaching any challenges identified, questions you may have, and suggestions for improvements or additions based on your lived experience kickstarting purpose and the integration of sustainability into your business.
