Pat’s takeaway points

  • The UN SDGs represents the complexity of the world we live in. Today, we are battling the symptoms of that complexity and with that, comes excitement in seeing how far along we can really change

  • COVID-19 has forced us to take stock and rethink the way we operate. It is the responsibility of businesses to operate sustainably - not just profit sustainably

  • The SDGs were made to be over-arching so that no one is left behind and allows for everyone to contribute. Behind each goal are KPIs and indicators that businesses can use to measure and incorporate into their business operations

  • To really zero-in on which SDGs a business can contribute to, they need to understand the environmental and social impacts their business creates on the world and prioritise the most material issues to address. This will help to secure the future of the business
